Job Opening - Senior Chemist (Analytical Research & Methods Development)

Basic Function and Responsibility:

bullet

Plan and control all manufacturing and packaging components to ensure material availability in support of production requirements, while minimizing inventory levels.

bullet

Maintain accurate item master records (MRP planning parameters).

bullet

Minimize material obsolescence by planning according to forecasted product or equipment changes, whenever possible.

Work Performed:

bullet

Create a valid production schedule, with due dates meeting need dates and planned capacity equal to required capacity.

bullet

Perform material availability check on proposed Master Production Schedules.

bullet

Review "buy report," along with corresponding "horizontal MRP" reports to determine materials and components to be purchased.

bullet

Review "reschedule report" and communicate to Purchasing where Purchase Order dates need to be changed.

bullet

Coordinate with the Purchasing Department the timely delivery of required materials and packaging components.

bullet

Coordinate "phase out - phase in" activities of materials. This entails placing "phased out" components on hold for destruction or disposition and activating "phased in" components. To ensure that the existing BOM reflects the component change, a CCR is issued to Quality Assurance, requesting the BOM change.

Update SOP's, initiate change controls and write investigations as needed.

bullet

Prepare inventory analysis reports.

bullet

Other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications:

5+ years of related planning experience is required.

bullet

Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, strict attention to detail, and the appropriate computer skills.

bullet

Able to multi-task, expedite, prioritize and work well interdepartmentally with all levels of management.

bullet

A pro-active, self-starter who is flexible and possesses exceptional problem solving skills.

Education:

bullet

A Bachelor's Degree preferred.
